Richard Elis

Richard is an Actor and Director with over 30 years experience in the industry . He works bilingually in English or Welsh o'r let's be honest a bit of both! 

He has worked extensively as an actor on tv, stage, film and radio plus numerous adverts across the UK and Europe. Alongside his acting career he has always had a passion for working with young and emerging performers, working with National Youth Theatre of Wales, Young Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Wales Academy of Voice and Dramatic Arts plus various other institutions as well as his private one to one tutoring. 

Richard aims with his sessions to give clients a varied and  bespoke  tailored way of working on speeches - he is a natural magpie within his own craft and picks up exercises and techniques from various theatrical systems. Incorporating exercises from Uta Haagen, Meisner and even some created by himself. His belief is that there is no one size fits all solution to unlocking a speech - indeed the same actor on a different day may need to try something different to connect with text. 

He will guide and lead on audition speeches but is a firm believer that finding and sourcing your own speeches and characters to work on is a valuable and important part of owning and connecting with your audition  speeches.  He will happily guide on self tapes and talk through the various demands of drama school as well as professional auditions. His prep classes are not only for people looking for Drama school places but can be of great benefit to actors whom are also looking to audition for jobs.

He has worked with many clients and students in the past, many of whom are now either studying in top drama schools or are in the profession already.
